Couples Therapy
If you’re feeling stuck with your partner, couples counselling might be right for you. Using techniques inspired by The Gottman Method, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Sex Therapy, I work with couples on a variety of concerns including:

Infidelity
I can also assist couples in navigating marriage by providing secular / non-denominational pre-marital counselling.
Overall, my goal in couples counselling is not to be your referee every time you have a fight. Rather, I will be teaching you how to be your own therapists so you can manage conflicts effectively on your own.
What To Expect in couples Therapy
Session 1 & 2
Relationships can be complex, and in order to ensure I understand your relationship and your goals, we use the first two sessions to conduct a thorough assessment on your relationship history, your personal individual histories, your strengths and challenges in your relationship, and your goals.
This begins with an initial session where, all together, we will discuss your relationship, the relationships history, and your current challenges. Our second session is for individual discussions, where you will each take a turn to speak with me one-on-one about your personal histories and expectations of therapy.
I will also set you up with an online questionnaire for both of you to fill out at home. The results of this questionnaire will assist me in identifying your core strengths and challenges.
Session 3
In the third session, I will take everything that I think I know about your relationship based on our interviews and the online questionnaire and present this information back to you, allowing you time to discuss, reflect, and correct. This time is also an opportunity for you to learn about some of the dynamics in your relationship, which many clients find both validating and illuminating.
We will also discuss your treatment plan, ensuring we are all on the same page in how we will move forward in our work together.
Session 4+
The fourth session is where the real work begins. Hopefully, you will have reflected on some of the information from the third session; I may have even sent you home with some simple homework.
After checking in, we will dive right into the education and activities that we planned to help you come closer to your relationship goals. Activities are completed in-session and outside of sessions, as homework practice, to get you closer to your goals as soon as possible.
As we work together, we will continually re-assess to ensure we are meeting our goals.
